The author is not a bollywood actor. Dr Mukherjee is a haematologist and cancer biologist in Columbia University. He is definitely one of the greatest storyteller of science and medicine. His first book 'Emperor of All Maladies : A Biography of Cancer' won Pullitzer Prize in 2011. 'The Gene : An Intimate History' is deeply informative and fascinating especially when it explains vividly more on nature vs nurture issues based on the latest discovery of our genomic mechanism. Brilliant book.
