BEING MORTAL

As we are heading to be the ageing nation by the year 2030, we should be more prepared in providing care for our senior citizens. A country achieves its ageing nation status when 15% of its population consisted of those aged 60 years and above. With better healthcare and wide access to quality health services, caring for our elderly will be a mounting challenge. It’s not about prolonging life anymore as death is certain, but to build policies using the concept of ‘assisted living’, by giving more freedom and providing quality of life without institutionalising them. This is the central theme of the book.
