NEUROTRIBES

This book should be read by doctors, teachers and parents. Autism is a fairly new ‘medical genre’ in modern medicine and the struggle to make it mainstream are fought by the parents themselves. It’s very sad facts when learning historically on how autistic children were labelled as feebleminded and were tormented, institutionalized and even killed by negligence during the World War 2 in the name of eugenics movement. We should work together to create public awareness and support those children and their families in terms of improving public policies and social acceptability. They have huge untapped potentials and we need to understand that they are built differently and we are the one who should adapt to them instead. 2nd April is The World Autism Awareness Day.
